Welcome 2008 Dragon Boat

Event Registration will be open as of January 28, 2008. Early Bird Registration deadline April 25th, 2008. All Early Bird Team Registrants will be entered to win a free entry into either the Calgary (Banff/Lake Louise) Dragon Boat Festival or the Whistler Dragon Boat Festival.

 

Welcome to the 4th annual Greater Vernon Dragon Boat Race & Festival. Every year teams from across the city and Western Canada, join together to race in this event and celebrate the culture and heritage of China. Several teams are drawn from local associations, businesses, and city organizations, while many other teams are visiting from Western Canada. Teams have an opportunity to compete in Women's, Men's and Mixed Divisions.

 

In 2006, Water's Edge Sport Performance Inc teamed up with the organizers of the Alberta Dragon Boat Race Foundation to continue expanding this sizzling summer event. The Vernon Dragon Boat Festival Teams are exposed to world class racing distances including 200m, 500m and 1000m (with a turn - WHOO HOO). The 2008 Vernon event poses to be one of the highlights of the Western Canadian summer race circuit boasting these world class distances and the 3rd Annual Water Ski Dragon Boat Challenge!!! Trophies and medals are awarded to the finalists.

 

Throughout the festival, spectators can enjoy traditional Chinese entertainment as well as many other entertainers.

 

This year's Annual Greater Vernon Dragon Boat Race & Festival will be held at Kalamalka Lake Beach, Coldstream (Vernon ), BC on Friday, July 25th , Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th, 2008 .
